Position: Project Engineer - Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation (Canada)

Albion Marine Solutions provides project management, engineering, consultancy, and conversion services to maritime and offshore industries.

The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing the scope of electrical, automation and instrumentation work as required within the area of expertise. The Project Engineer reports to the Project Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review vessel's drawings and machinery specification on a subject of legislation compliance
  • Prepare project plans and work specification for each individual vessel
  • Provide clarification to concerned parties on a detail of modifications related to specific vessels or project overall
  • Prepare a submission to Class for approval of vessels' specific modifications
  • Prepare work packages for each individual vessel
  • Arrange updates of vessels' drawings on completion of modifications
  • Provide daily updates on project progress to Project Manager
  • Inform Project Manager immediately on any issues related to project implementation
  • File and keep track of all project documentation, related to each vessel and overall project work
  • Carry out vessel inspection visits as required
  • Supervise retrofit installations during dry docking period as required
  • Treat safety as the highest priority

 

Requirements

  • Degree in Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation or adjacent fields
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical design software
  • Proficient in electric load calculations
  • Familiar with standards and Class Rules applicable to electrical and automation machinery
  • Drydock experience
  • Technical specification writing skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a large team
